Piotr Kociumbas’s presentation at the congress of the DFG-Forschungsgruppe 5138 in Hamburg
Piotr Kociumbas delivered a paper at the international interdisciplinary congress “Geistliche Intermedialität des Liber Naturae in der Frühen Neuzeit,” held on 23–26 March 2026 in Hamburg. His presentation, titled Michael Albinus’ “Güldene Rose” (1651) und deren naturbezogene geistlich-intermediale Dimension, focused on the collection Güldene Rose, which contains religious epigrams by a Lutheran clergyman active in Royal Prussia. The paper presented the work as an example of nature-inspired early modern religious intermediality, combining poetry, image, and music. The analysis concentrated on the dialogue between the engraved title page and the epigrammatic, Christocentric structure of the text, showing how they complement one another and jointly construct theological meaning. The congress was organized by the DFG-Forschungsgruppe 5138 at the University of Hamburg.
